About Us
Ediciones Menta is a Mexico City based project focused on making experiments between music and visual arts. Run by Cynthia Yee (visual artist - http://www.flickr.com/cynthiayee/ ) and Hugo Quezada (musician from the synth band Robota - http://www.myspace.com/robota ), they released a first printed volume: Ediciones Menta Vol1 a compillation of posters packaged as an LP, accompanied by a limited edition of screen printed bags for carrying an LP collection, a set of fabric pinback buttons, etc. As part of the manifesto, they organized parties and happenings at places such as Museo Experimental EL ECO (by Mathias Goeritz), one abandoned cinema in Guadalajara México, an old house in downtown mexico city among other strange places.
Articles about this project have appeared in a few printed magazines and blogs such as Nylon Mag US, VenusZine, etc, and also in a podcast (in spanish) where Cynthia and Hugo talk about music and mexico city's young art scene.
Ediciones Menta Vol.1 looks for experiemental ways of distributing the art image, while making a register from a part of the young, comtemporary art scene from Mexico City.
